About Los Angeles Yacht Club
The Los Angeles Yacht Club name dates from 1920 - as the South Coast Yacht Club merged with Los Angeles Motor Boat Club and change its combined name.
The clubhouse overlooks Cabrillo, San Pedro and has all the amenities one would expect of a club of this stature.
Over on Howland's Landing on Santa Catalina Island the club has a more informal offerings, with outside kitchens, shore-side bathrooms and mooring reservations at certain times of the year - and Labor Day is a must.
Social
The club has regular Wednesday lunches and Friday dinners with a scattering of commemorative meals and workshops.
Sailing
The club has a very active racing calendar - and also hosts Community sailing for folks who want to learn to sail and gain access to day sailing in the harbour. There's also Women on the Water, for women to enjoy boating in a supportive setting.
